Alexa: black leather ankle boots for women with two side zippers

Alexa is a pair of black leather ankle boots for women with a distinctive biker inspired silhouette. The shaft that rises above the ankle, front lacing, two side zippers, metal hardware and a heel strap with a buckle create a style for everyday urban outfits with a bolder character.

Natural Crazy Horse leather with a pull up effect

The approximately 16 cm shaft is made entirely from natural Crazy Horse cowhide leather. Its waxed pull up finish can develop lighter marks, local tonal variations and subtle scuffs as the leather bends and is worn.

Over time, the leather develops an individual patina. Differences in colour intensity and the visibility of the pull up effect are natural characteristics of the material, not leather defects.

Lacing and two side zippers

Front lacing allows you to adjust the fit around the instep and midfoot. The zippers placed on both sides of the shaft make the boots easier to put on and take off without fully unlacing them each time.

Metal eyelets and hooks at the top of the lacing emphasise the model’s bold line.

Heel buckle strap and cap toe stitching

The leather strap with a metal buckle runs around the back of the shaft and highlights the heel line. It is primarily a styling detail. The lacing adjusts the fit, while the side zippers make the boots easier to put on for everyday wear.

Cap toe stitching visually separates the front of the boot and highlights the line of the rounded toe. It does not indicate a metal or protective toe cap.

TR outsole with a deep lug tread

The black outsole is made from TR, or thermoplastic rubber. It has a distinct heel block and a deep lug tread with wide grooves at the forefoot and heel.

The outsole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the forefoot and approximately 3.5 cm high at the heel. It is cemented to the upper.

Leather interior and choosing your size

The lining and insole surface are made from natural pig leather. The model has standard width, standard instep room and standard space in the toe area.

According to the current specification, Alexa runs true to size. Before choosing your size, check the insole lengths in the size guide and compare them with an insole from footwear that fits you well.

Natural leather may need a short break in period at first. It will not correct an unsuitable length or width.

How to style Alexa ankle boots

Alexa works best with biker, urban and casual outfits. Wear them with black or dark blue jeans, a knitted dress, opaque tights, a simple T shirt, a leather jacket or a heavier coat.

Black, graphite, burgundy, navy and beige work well with the black leather and metal details. The pronounced tread, lacing and buckle strap mean this is not a model for classic formal outfits.

Caring for Crazy Horse leather

Remove dust and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For light marks, use a well wrung, slightly damp cloth only on the affected area. Do not soak the entire leather surface.

Use a small amount of colourless products made for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Always test a product on a discreet area first, as it can change the colour and the visibility of the pull up effect. Waterproofing can limit moisture absorption but does not make the boots fully waterproof.

Handmade in Poland

Materials & construction
Upper Full leather upper

Natural cowhide leather

The upper is made entirely from natural cowhide leather. The leather type, surface finish and recommended care profile vary by model.

Leather Crazy Horse leather

Natural bovine grain Crazy Horse leather with a waxed pull-up finish. Its defining characteristics are natural tonal variation and lighter marks that appear as the leather flexes and is worn. The surface has a distinctive, slightly rugged appearance and gradually develops an individual patina.

Lighter marks at flex points, changes in shade, local scuffs and a patina that develops over time are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather and its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects. The surface evolves with wear, so each pair can gradually develop its own individual appearance.

Lining & insole Leather lining and leather-covered insole

The lining and the top surface of the insole are made from natural pigskin leather. This keeps the foot in direct contact with a natural material and reflects the construction standard of traditionally crafted leather footwear.

Outsole TR sole 1.5/3.5 cm with lug tread

Black sole made from TR thermoplastic rubber, with a standard profile and a clearly defined heel. The forefoot and heel feature deep lug tread with wide grooves. The sole measures approximately 1.5 cm at the forefoot and 3.5 cm at the heel. Designed for women’s footwear, it is cemented to the upper with technical footwear adhesives.

Care
Before first wear

Before first wear, the footwear can be protected with a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply the product to a clean, dry surface according to the manufacturer's instructions. First test it on an inconspicuous area, as even a colourless product may darken the leather or alter the visibility of the characteristic pull-up effect.

Cleaning

Remove dust, sand and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For light soiling, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth only on the affected area. Do not soak the entire leather surface or scrub it aggressively.

Regular care

When the leather begins to look dry, apply a small amount of colourless product intended for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply it in a thin, even layer without over-conditioning. Care may slightly darken the surface and reduce the visibility of lighter marks characteristic of the pull-up effect.

Moisture protection

For protection against everyday moisture, use a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. The treatment helps reduce moisture and dirt absorption but does not make the footwear completely waterproof. Avoid prolonged contact between the leather and water.

After getting wet

Blot away surface moisture with a dry, absorbent cloth. Insert clean paper or shoe trees to help the footwear retain its shape. Let the shoes dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, fireplaces, hairdryers and direct sunlight. Once fully dry, the leather can be protected again with a suitable product if its condition requires it.

What to avoid

Avoid heavily covering coloured polishes, harsh detergents, large amounts of water and intensive scrubbing. Do not use petrol, solvents, acetone, degreasers or technical chemicals. Excessive amounts of grease, oil or wax can significantly darken the leather and alter the characteristic pull-up effect.

Styling
Women's biker: jeans, leather jacket and dress

Women's leather biker boots work well with black or dark-blue jeans, a simple T-shirt, a leather biker jacket, a knitted dress and a heavier coat. Their stronger silhouette and metal details can reinforce a casual denim outfit or create an intentional contrast with a cleaner, more feminine dress. Black, charcoal and burgundy pair especially well with denim, leather, knitwear and wool.

Women's urban: jeans, knitwear and coat

Women's leather ankle boots and Chelsea boots work naturally with straight or slightly tapered jeans, tailored trousers, a knitted sweater, turtleneck and classic coat. A shorter jacket creates a more relaxed everyday outfit, while tailored trousers and a coat give the look a cleaner, more polished character. Black, brown, beige, grey and navy pair well with denim, knitwear, wool and natural leather.

Women's elegant: dress, skirt and coat

Elegant women's leather ankle boots complement dresses, skirts, opaque tights, cigarette trousers and tailored trousers. A blazer, classic coat or simple knit creates a polished outfit for work, meetings, dinner and more formal occasions. Black, brown, burgundy, beige and grey work naturally with leather, wool and knitwear, creating a refined and timeless look.

FAQ

Najczęściej zadawane pytania o model Alexa

Is this style suitable for wide feet?

This style has a standard width, with standard room over the instep and in the forefoot. It is not specifically designed for wide feet. The size guide lists insole lengths and cannot be used to assess the width of the boots. If your feet are noticeably wide, the fit will depend on their individual shape.

Does natural leather need breaking in?

Natural leather may feel slightly firmer at first. With wear, it gradually adapts in areas of flex and pressure. Breaking in will not, however, correct insufficient shoe length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Are lighter marks and scuffs on the leather a defect?

No. With Crazy Horse leather, changes in shade, lighter marks at flex points and local scuffs are characteristic of its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects, but part of the leather’s natural appearance.

Does Crazy Horse leather change in appearance with wear?

Yes. Lighter marks, creases, local scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material evolves with wear, so each pair develops its own individual character over time.

How should Crazy Horse leather be cared for?

Dust and dry dirt are best removed with a soft brush or cloth. For light marks, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth on the affected area. For periodic care, use products intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Always test the product first on a less visible area.

Is Crazy Horse leather waterproof?

No. Crazy Horse leather is not fully waterproof. Proper impregnation can reduce the absorption of moisture and dirt, but it does not make the footwear waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and never dry the boots directly next to a radiator or other heat source.

Is the inside of the boots made from natural leather?

Yes. The lining and the surface of the insole are made from natural leather, in accordance with this model’s material specification.

What is the purpose of the cap-toe stitching on the toe box?

The cap-toe stitching visually separates the front section of the shoe and gives the toe a cleaner, more classic line. It is a structural and aesthetic detail. It does not mean that the shoe has a metal or protective toe cap.

Is this model suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. This model is also designed for regular everyday wear. Its versatile shape works well with jeans, chinos and other casual outfits. The exact styling options depend on the design and construction details of the individual model.

Is this model suitable for formal outfits?

That depends on the shape, outsole and details of the specific model. A clean, slim profile, smooth upper and subtle outsole can work with more formal looks. A pronounced tread, metal hardware, straps, bold stitching or a western or biker style point instead toward casual, urban or smart casual outfits. Check the description and photos of the specific variant before choosing.

How is the outsole with a deep lug tread constructed?

The outsole is made from TR, or thermoplastic rubber. It has a distinct heel block and a deep lug tread with wide grooves at the forefoot and heel. It is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the forefoot and approximately 3.5 cm high at the heel. The outsole is cemented to the upper.

Are the boots handcrafted in Poland?

Yes. Every pair is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods.

How long does it take to prepare the shoes for dispatch?

Each pair is handcrafted after the order is placed. Standard production and preparation time before dispatch is 3–5 business days. This does not include the carrier’s delivery time.
