Maron Brown – a rugged character shaped by natural leather

Brown Maron combines military, biker and workwear influences with the warmer, less uniform character of brown leather. Extensive lacing, metal hardware, a side zip and a wide buckle strap give the boot a strong silhouette, while the colour brings out a more natural and vintage-inspired side of the design.

At the centre of this version is brown Crazy Horse leather. Its waxed pull-up finish responds naturally to movement, friction and everyday wear. Lighter marks, tonal variations, creases and gradually developing patina can appear across the surface, allowing each pair to become increasingly individual over time.

Brown leather designed to evolve

The colour is not intended to remain perfectly flat and uniform. As the leather moves, subtle changes in tone can emphasise the lines of the upper, stitching and construction details. This natural variation works particularly well with Maron's metal elements and reinforces its rugged and vintage character.

Strong details with a clear purpose

Maron contains several visible design elements, but they all contribute to the same identity. The lacing defines the front of the boot, the buckle strap emphasises the ankle area, and the side zip forms part of the more elaborate construction. Together they create a lace-up boot with a clear military and biker influence that can still work naturally as part of an everyday wardrobe.

How to style Brown Maron

Brown Maron works particularly well with denim, khaki, navy, black, canvas, heavier cotton, leather and wool. Pair it with straight jeans, cargo trousers or chinos, an overshirt, leather jacket, field jacket or heavier coat.

In a complete workwear or military-inspired outfit it feels completely natural. With simpler clothing, the combination of brown leather, metal details and the distinctive upper allows the boots themselves to become the strongest part of the look.

Who is Maron for?

For men looking for brown leather lace-up boots with a distinctive identity and who appreciate natural leather not only for its initial appearance, but also for the way it changes through wear. Maron brings together military, biker, workwear and vintage influences in a boot that can become increasingly personal over time.

Width Standard fit

This model is made on a standard-width last.

This model provides a standard amount of room over the instep.

Toe box Standard toe box

The toe box offers a standard amount of room for the toes.

Natural leather may require a short break-in period

Materials & construction
Upper Full leather upper

Natural cowhide leather

The upper is made entirely from natural cowhide leather. The leather type, surface finish and recommended care profile vary by model.

Leather Crazy Horse leather

Natural bovine grain Crazy Horse leather with a waxed pull-up finish. Its defining characteristics are natural tonal variation and lighter marks that appear as the leather flexes and is worn. The surface has a distinctive, slightly rugged appearance and gradually develops an individual patina.

Lighter marks at flex points, changes in shade, local scuffs and a patina that develops over time are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather and its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects. The surface evolves with wear, so each pair can gradually develop its own individual appearance.

Lining & insole Leather lining and leather-covered insole

The lining and the top surface of the insole are made from natural pigskin leather. This keeps the foot in direct contact with a natural material and reflects the construction standard of traditionally crafted leather footwear.

Outsole TR sole 1.5/3 cm with multidirectional tread

Black outsole made from TR (thermoplastic rubber), with a standard profile and a pronounced multidirectional tread. The outsole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the forefoot and approximately 3 cm high at the heel. This type of outsole is used primarily on ankle boots and motorcycle- or military-style footwear. It is also used on selected low-cut shoe designs. The outsole is cemented to the upper using technical footwear adhesives after the bonding surfaces have been properly prepared and the correct pressure applied.

Care
Before first wear

Before first wear, the footwear can be protected with a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply the product to a clean, dry surface according to the manufacturer's instructions. First test it on an inconspicuous area, as even a colourless product may darken the leather or alter the visibility of the characteristic pull-up effect.

Cleaning

Remove dust, sand and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For light soiling, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth only on the affected area. Do not soak the entire leather surface or scrub it aggressively.

Regular care

When the leather begins to look dry, apply a small amount of colourless product intended for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply it in a thin, even layer without over-conditioning. Care may slightly darken the surface and reduce the visibility of lighter marks characteristic of the pull-up effect.

Moisture protection

For protection against everyday moisture, use a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. The treatment helps reduce moisture and dirt absorption but does not make the footwear completely waterproof. Avoid prolonged contact between the leather and water.

After getting wet

Blot away surface moisture with a dry, absorbent cloth. Insert clean paper or shoe trees to help the footwear retain its shape. Let the shoes dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, fireplaces, hairdryers and direct sunlight. Once fully dry, the leather can be protected again with a suitable product if its condition requires it.

What to avoid

Avoid heavily covering coloured polishes, harsh detergents, large amounts of water and intensive scrubbing. Do not use petrol, solvents, acetone, degreasers or technical chemicals. Excessive amounts of grease, oil or wax can significantly darken the leather and alter the characteristic pull-up effect.

Styling
Biker: jeans, leather jacket and heavier layers

Leather boots with a motorcycle-inspired biker character work especially well with straight or slightly tapered jeans, a leather jacket, a simple T-shirt, chunky knitwear and a heavier coat. Black, charcoal, dark denim and natural leather reinforce the strong silhouette and highlight metal and construction details. The result is a confident, masculine everyday look inspired by classic biker style that also works well in more rugged outfits.

Military-inspired: cargo trousers, denim and field jacket

Leather boots and ankle boots inspired by military aesthetics work naturally with cargo trousers, straight jeans, chinos, overshirts and field jackets. Black, brown, khaki, olive and charcoal pair well with denim, canvas, leather and wool. Simple cuts, heavier fabrics and utilitarian details reinforce the rugged, confident silhouette without turning the outfit into full military styling.

Workwear: denim, overshirt and heavyweight fabrics

Workwear-inspired leather boots pair naturally with straight jeans, heavyweight cotton trousers, cargo trousers, overshirts, work jackets, chunky sweaters and heavier coats. Denim, canvas, natural leather, wool and textured fabrics reinforce the utilitarian aesthetic and highlight visible construction details. Brown, black, khaki, olive and navy create a natural palette for classic workwear and rugged outfits.

Urban: jeans, T-shirt and lightweight jacket

Urban leather footwear is easy to combine with straight or slightly tapered jeans, chinos, a plain T-shirt, sweatshirt, overshirt and lightweight jacket. It is a versatile base for everyday outfits built around simple cuts and neutral colors. Black, charcoal, navy and brown work well with denim, cotton and natural leather, so the footwear can be styled in both relaxed casual and cleaner city looks.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About the Maron Model

Are the boots handcrafted in Poland?

Yes. Every pair is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods.

How does this style fit?

This style runs slightly large. Before choosing a size, check the insole lengths in the size guide and compare them with the insole length of shoes that fit you well. Do not compare the insole length directly with your foot length, as the insole needs to include the extra room required for a proper fit. If you are between two sizes, the smaller size will usually be the better choice.

How should Crazy Horse leather be cared for?

Dust and dry dirt are best removed with a soft brush or cloth. For light marks, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth on the affected area. For periodic care, use products intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Always test the product first on a less visible area.

Is Crazy Horse leather waterproof?

No. Crazy Horse leather is not fully waterproof. Proper impregnation can reduce the absorption of moisture and dirt, but it does not make the footwear waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and never dry the boots directly next to a radiator or other heat source.

Are lighter marks and scuffs on the leather a defect?

No. With Crazy Horse leather, changes in shade, lighter marks at flex points and local scuffs are characteristic of its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects, but part of the leather’s natural appearance.

Does natural leather need breaking in?

Natural leather may feel slightly firmer at first. With wear, it gradually adapts in areas of flex and pressure. Breaking in will not, however, correct insufficient shoe length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Is the inside of the boots made from natural leather?

Yes. The lining and the surface of the insole are made from natural leather, in accordance with this model’s material specification.

How is the sole with multidirectional tread constructed?

The sole is made from TR, or thermoplastic rubber. It has a pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and about 3 cm high at the rear. The sole is bonded to the upper.

Is this model suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. This model is also designed for regular everyday wear. Its versatile shape works well with jeans, chinos and other casual outfits. The exact styling options depend on the design and construction details of the individual model.

Is this style suitable for wide feet?

This style has a standard width, with standard room over the instep and in the forefoot. It is not specifically designed for wide feet. The size guide lists insole lengths and cannot be used to assess the width of the boots. If your feet are noticeably wide, the fit will depend on their individual shape.

Does the side zipper make the boots easier to put on?

Yes. The side zipper makes the boots easier to put on and take off by allowing the upper to open wider. It also reduces the need to adjust the other fastening elements each time you wear them.

Does Crazy Horse leather change in appearance with wear?

Yes. Lighter marks, creases, local scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material evolves with wear, so each pair develops its own individual character over time.
