Linen Black – leather and linen boots with a raw, distinctive character

Linen is a pair of men's black leather and linen boots designed around the contrast between natural materials, visible texture and rugged detailing. The approximately 16 cm upper combines Crazy Horse leather with linen fabric, while traditional lacing, a side zip and metal eyelets and hooks give the model a strong character inspired by rugged, military and workwear style.

The combination of materials is one of the defining features of Linen. Natural cowhide leather forms the main structural sections of the upper, while linen panels are used in the upper part of the shaft. Their clearly visible woven texture contrasts with the darker leather and makes the design immediately recognisable.

Crazy Horse leather that develops with wear

The leather sections are made from natural Crazy Horse cowhide with a waxed pull-up finish. As the leather bends and is worn, lighter marks, tonal variations and natural creases may gradually appear on the surface.

These changes are not defects. They are a natural characteristic of Crazy Horse leather and allow the boots to develop a more individual patina over time. Combined with the texture of the linen, this ageing process reinforces the rugged character of the model.

Intentionally raw linen edges

The linen panels feature raw, frayed edges as an intentional design detail. They are deliberately left this way to emphasise the handcrafted, unfinished-looking aesthetic of the model. The fraying is part of the design and does not indicate damaged or unfinished material.

Lacing with a practical side zip

Linen combines traditional lacing with a side zipper. The laces allow the fit to be adjusted around the instep and midfoot, while the zipper makes the boots easier to put on and take off without fully readjusting the lacing each time.

Metal eyelets and hooks in the upper section complement the black leather, linen texture and utilitarian construction of the boot.

TR sole with multidirectional tread

The boots are built on a black sole made from TR thermoplastic rubber with a pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and around 3 cm high at the rear. It is bonded to the upper.

Rugged, military and workwear styling

Linen works especially well with straight jeans, cargo trousers, chinos, denim, overshirts, field jackets, leather jackets and heavier coats. Black, charcoal, khaki, navy, denim and other muted colours naturally complement its mix of leather, textile and metal details.

It can be used as a statement piece in a simple urban outfit or incorporated into a more complete workwear or military-inspired look.

Leather interior and standard fit

The lining and insole surface are made from natural leather. The model is built on a standard-width last, with standard room through the instep and toe area.

Linen runs slightly larger than standard. Before choosing a size, we recommend comparing the listed insole length with a well-fitting pair of shoes. The natural leather may initially feel somewhat firm and gradually adapt at areas of flex and pressure.

Handmade in Poland

Every pair is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods. The boots are made after the order is placed, with a standard production and preparation time of 3–5 business days before dispatch.

Who is Linen for?

For men looking for something more distinctive than a plain black leather boot. Linen combines Crazy Horse leather, natural linen, raw finishing and utilitarian metal details in a model designed for expressive everyday styling.

Materials & construction
Upper Leather and linen upper

Natural cowhide leather

The upper combines natural cowhide leather with a linen fabric panel in the upper section of the boot shaft. The leather provides structure and defines the silhouette, while the linen panel gives the footwear a lighter, more textile-led appearance.

Leather Crazy Horse leather

Natural bovine grain Crazy Horse leather with a waxed pull-up finish. Its defining characteristics are natural tonal variation and lighter marks that appear as the leather flexes and is worn. The surface has a distinctive, slightly rugged appearance and gradually develops an individual patina.

Lighter marks at flex points, changes in shade, local scuffs and a patina that develops over time are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather and its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects. The surface evolves with wear, so each pair can gradually develop its own individual appearance.

Lining & insole Leather lining and leather-covered insole

The lining and the top surface of the insole are made from natural pigskin leather. This keeps the foot in direct contact with a natural material and reflects the construction standard of traditionally crafted leather footwear.

Outsole TR sole 1.5/3 cm with multidirectional tread

Black sole made from TR thermoplastic rubber, with a standard profile and pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole measures approximately 1.5 cm at the forefoot and 3 cm at the heel. It is used for lace-up boots and selected motorcycle- and military-inspired styles. The sole is cemented to the upper using technical footwear adhesives after the bonding surfaces have been properly prepared and pressed.

Care
Before first wear

Before first wear, the footwear can be protected with a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply the product to a clean, dry surface according to the manufacturer's instructions. First test it on an inconspicuous area, as even a colourless product may darken the leather or alter the visibility of the characteristic pull-up effect.

Cleaning

Remove dust, sand and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For light soiling, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth only on the affected area. Do not soak the entire leather surface or scrub it aggressively.

Regular care

When the leather begins to look dry, apply a small amount of colourless product intended for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply it in a thin, even layer without over-conditioning. Care may slightly darken the surface and reduce the visibility of lighter marks characteristic of the pull-up effect.

Moisture protection

For protection against everyday moisture, use a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. The treatment helps reduce moisture and dirt absorption but does not make the footwear completely waterproof. Avoid prolonged contact between the leather and water.

After getting wet

Blot away surface moisture with a dry, absorbent cloth. Insert clean paper or shoe trees to help the footwear retain its shape. Let the shoes dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, fireplaces, hairdryers and direct sunlight. Once fully dry, the leather can be protected again with a suitable product if its condition requires it.

What to avoid

Avoid heavily covering coloured polishes, harsh detergents, large amounts of water and intensive scrubbing. Do not use petrol, solvents, acetone, degreasers or technical chemicals. Excessive amounts of grease, oil or wax can significantly darken the leather and alter the characteristic pull-up effect.

Styling
Biker: jeans, leather jacket and heavier layers

Leather boots with a motorcycle-inspired biker character work especially well with straight or slightly tapered jeans, a leather jacket, a simple T-shirt, chunky knitwear and a heavier coat. Black, charcoal, dark denim and natural leather reinforce the strong silhouette and highlight metal and construction details. The result is a confident, masculine everyday look inspired by classic biker style that also works well in more rugged outfits.

Military-inspired: cargo trousers, denim and field jacket

Leather boots and ankle boots inspired by military aesthetics work naturally with cargo trousers, straight jeans, chinos, overshirts and field jackets. Black, brown, khaki, olive and charcoal pair well with denim, canvas, leather and wool. Simple cuts, heavier fabrics and utilitarian details reinforce the rugged, confident silhouette without turning the outfit into full military styling.

Urban: jeans, T-shirt and lightweight jacket

Urban leather footwear is easy to combine with straight or slightly tapered jeans, chinos, a plain T-shirt, sweatshirt, overshirt and lightweight jacket. It is a versatile base for everyday outfits built around simple cuts and neutral colors. Black, charcoal, navy and brown work well with denim, cotton and natural leather, so the footwear can be styled in both relaxed casual and cleaner city looks.

Workwear: denim, overshirt and heavyweight fabrics

Workwear-inspired leather boots pair naturally with straight jeans, heavyweight cotton trousers, cargo trousers, overshirts, work jackets, chunky sweaters and heavier coats. Denim, canvas, natural leather, wool and textured fabrics reinforce the utilitarian aesthetic and highlight visible construction details. Brown, black, khaki, olive and navy create a natural palette for classic workwear and rugged outfits.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About the Linen Model

How does this style fit?

This style runs slightly large. Before choosing a size, check the insole lengths in the size guide and compare them with the insole length of shoes that fit you well. Do not compare the insole length directly with your foot length, as the insole needs to include the extra room required for a proper fit. If you are between two sizes, the smaller size will usually be the better choice.

Is this style suitable for wide feet?

This style has a standard width, with standard room over the instep and in the forefoot. It is not specifically designed for wide feet. The size guide lists insole lengths and cannot be used to assess the width of the boots. If your feet are noticeably wide, the fit will depend on their individual shape.

Does the side zipper make the boots easier to put on?

Yes. The side zipper makes the boots easier to put on and take off by allowing the upper to open wider. It also reduces the need to adjust the other fastening elements each time you wear them.

Does natural leather need breaking in?

Natural leather may feel slightly firmer at first. With wear, it gradually adapts in areas of flex and pressure. Breaking in will not, however, correct insufficient shoe length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Is the upper made entirely from leather?

No. The boot upper combines natural cowhide leather with linen fabric in the upper section. The leather forms the main structural elements and defines the boot’s characteristic lines, while the linen panels give the upper a distinct textile character.

How should an upper combining Crazy Horse leather and linen be cared for?

Care for the leather sections using products suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Clean the linen panels with a soft brush or dry cloth; for light marks, spot-clean with a slightly damp, well-wrung cloth. Do not apply leather creams, polishes, conditioners or waxes to the linen. Avoid soaking the boots and, if they get wet, let them dry naturally at room temperature.

Are lighter marks and scuffs on the leather a defect?

No. With Crazy Horse leather, changes in shade, lighter marks at flex points and local scuffs are characteristic of its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects, but part of the leather’s natural appearance.

Does Crazy Horse leather change in appearance with wear?

Yes. Lighter marks, creases, local scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material evolves with wear, so each pair develops its own individual character over time.

Is Crazy Horse leather waterproof?

No. Crazy Horse leather is not fully waterproof. Proper impregnation can reduce the absorption of moisture and dirt, but it does not make the footwear waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and never dry the boots directly next to a radiator or other heat source.

How is the sole with multidirectional tread constructed?

The sole is made from TR, or thermoplastic rubber. It has a pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and about 3 cm high at the rear. The sole is bonded to the upper.

Is the inside of the boots made from natural leather?

Yes. The lining and the surface of the insole are made from natural leather, in accordance with this model’s material specification.

Are the boots handcrafted in Poland?

Yes. Every pair is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods.

Is this model suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. This model is also designed for regular everyday wear. Its versatile shape works well with jeans, chinos and other casual outfits. The exact styling options depend on the design and construction details of the individual model.

How long does it take to prepare the shoes for dispatch?

Each pair is handcrafted after the order is placed. Standard production and preparation time before dispatch is 3–5 business days. This does not include the carrier’s delivery time.
