Elegant Brown – men's Crazy Horse leather ankle boots with distinctive character

Elegant is a men's ankle boot combining a shaft approximately 16 cm high, traditional lacing and a side zip with the distinctive look of natural Crazy Horse leather.

Metal eyelets, pronounced stitching and the defined stitched toe reinforce the model's military-inspired construction, while the brown waxed pull-up leather gives each pair a more rugged, distinctive character with a subtle vintage edge.

Natural Crazy Horse leather

The upper is made entirely from natural cowhide Crazy Horse leather. It is a full-grain leather with a waxed pull-up finish, known for the tonal changes that appear when the leather flexes and is worn.

Lighter marks, local scuffs, creases and tonal variations are not defects. They are a natural part of the Crazy Horse look and mean that individual pairs may differ slightly in surface character.

Leather that changes with the boot

With wear, Crazy Horse leather gradually develops a natural patina. Areas exposed to flexing and friction may become lighter or darker, giving the boots a more individual appearance over time.

This evolving surface is one of the defining features of Crazy Horse leather and works especially well with the military and workwear-inspired construction of the Elegant model.

Lacing and side zip

Elegant combines full lacing with a side zip. The laces allow the fit to be adjusted around the instep and midfoot, while the zip makes the boots easier to put on and take off without fully unlacing them each time.

Black laces, metal eyelets, the higher shaft and stitched toe create a strong silhouette inspired by classic military boots. These details are not only functional — they give the model a more distinctive, rugged and masculine appearance with greater visual presence.

TR sole with multidirectional tread

The model uses a black sole made from TR thermoplastic rubber with a pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and around 3 cm high at the rear. It is bonded to the upper.

Military, workwear and vintage styling

Brown Elegant pairs particularly well with straight jeans, cargo trousers, chinos, overshirts, heavier shirts, knitwear, field jackets and wool coats.

Denim, khaki and heavier fabrics bring out its military and workwear character. With chinos, a shirt, knitwear or a coat, the model also works well in cleaner urban smart-casual outfits.

It is not a traditional formal shoe. Its strength lies in combining classic boot construction with the rugged character of Crazy Horse leather and the versatility to move from military and workwear styling into urban smart casual.

Leather interior and regular fit

The lining and insole surface are made from natural pigskin leather. The model is built on a standard-width last with regular room through the instep and forefoot.

Elegant runs slightly larger than standard. Before choosing a size, we recommend measuring your foot carefully and comparing the result with the insole-length size chart.

Natural leather may initially feel slightly firm and gradually adapt in areas of flex and pressure.

How to care for Crazy Horse leather

Remove dust and dry dirt with a soft brush or gentle cloth. For light marks, a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth can be used locally.

For periodic care, use a small amount of a product intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Always test it first on an inconspicuous area, as it may darken the leather or change the intensity of the pull-up effect.

Protective treatment may reduce moisture and dirt absorption, but does not make the footwear completely waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and do not dry the boots next to a direct heat source.

Handmade in Poland

Every pair of Elegant boots is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods, including lasting the upper.

The boots are made after the order is placed. Standard production and preparation time before dispatch is 3–5 business days and does not include delivery time.

Who is Brown Elegant for?

For men looking for leather ankle boots that combine classic construction with a more rugged personality. Brown Crazy Horse leather, pull-up effect, lacing, side zip, high shaft and stitched toe give the model a clear military, workwear and vintage character.

Fit & sizing
Sizing Runs slightly large

This model runs slightly larger than standard sizing. Before choosing a size, compare the listed insole length with a pair of shoes that fits you well.

Width Standard fit

This model is made on a standard-width last.

Instep Standard instep volume

This model provides a standard amount of room over the instep.

Toe box Standard toe box

The toe box offers a standard amount of room for the toes.

Natural leather may require a short break-in period

Natural leather may feel slightly firm at first. During the first few days, wear the shoes for shorter periods so the leather can gradually adapt at flex and pressure points. Breaking in will not correct insufficient length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Materials & construction
Upper Full leather upper

Natural cowhide leather

The upper is made entirely from natural cowhide leather. The leather type, surface finish and recommended care profile vary by model.

Leather Crazy Horse leather

Natural cowhide leather with a rugged, waxed pull-up finish. Well suited to biker boots, workwear footwear, military-inspired styles and leather boots above the ankle.

Lighter marks, creases, scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material changes with wear, giving each pair an individual appearance.

Lining & insole Leather lining and leather-covered insole

The lining and the top surface of the insole are made from natural pigskin leather. This keeps the foot in direct contact with a natural material and reflects the construction standard of traditionally crafted leather footwear.

Outsole TR sole 1.5/3 cm with multidirectional tread

Black sole made from TR thermoplastic rubber, with a standard profile and pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole measures approximately 1.5 cm at the forefoot and 3 cm at the heel. It is used for lace-up boots and selected motorcycle- and military-inspired styles. The sole is cemented to the upper using technical footwear adhesives after the bonding surfaces have been properly prepared and pressed.

Care
Before first wear

Before first wear, apply a light, even layer of protector suitable for natural, waxed or oiled leather. Test the product on a hidden area first, as it may darken the leather or alter the pull-up effect. Allow the footwear to dry completely at room temperature.

Cleaning

Remove dust, sand and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For minor marks, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth on the affected area only. Do not soak the leather or scrub it aggressively.

Regular care

When the leather begins to look dry, apply a small amount of colourless product intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Apply a thin, even layer without over-conditioning. Each application may slightly darken the leather and reduce the visibility of lighter scuffs.

Moisture protection

For protection against everyday moisture, use a protector intended for natural or waxed leather. The treatment reduces water and dirt absorption but does not provide full waterproofing. Crazy Horse leather footwear should not be soaked for long periods or used like rubber footwear.

After getting wet

Blot away surface moisture with a dry, absorbent cloth. Insert shoe trees or clean paper to help retain the shape. Leave the footwear to dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, hairdryers, fireplaces and direct sunlight. Once fully dry, reapply a suitable protector or a small amount of leather conditioner if required.

What to avoid

Avoid heavily covering coloured polishes, unsuitable creams, harsh detergents, large amounts of water and intensive scrubbing. Do not use petrol, solvents, acetone, degreasers or workshop chemicals. Excessive grease or wax can significantly darken the leather and alter its natural character.

Styling
Military: jeans, cargo trousers and a field jacket

Military-style Chelsea boots and lace-up boots pair well with straight jeans, cargo trousers, chinos, a field jacket and a wool overcoat. They look strongest with black, brown, khaki, charcoal, denim, canvas and other rugged fabrics.

Smart casual: chinos, a blazer and an overcoat

Leather shoes, Chelsea boots and refined ankle boots pair well with chinos, tailored trousers, clean dark jeans, a shirt, knitwear, a blazer and an overcoat. This profile works for the office, meetings, dinner and less formal occasions.

Urban: jeans, a T-shirt and a lightweight jacket

Urban leather footwear pairs well with straight or tapered jeans, chinos, a plain T-shirt, sweatshirt, overshirt and lightweight jacket. The profile suits practical everyday outfits built around comfort, simple silhouettes and distinctive footwear.

Workwear: denim, an overshirt and heavyweight fabrics

Rugged leather boots with workwear styling pair well with straight jeans, heavyweight cotton trousers, cargo trousers, an overshirt, chore jacket, thick knitwear and a substantial overcoat. They work best with denim, canvas, leather and other durable textured fabrics.

FAQ

Najczęściej zadawane pytania o model Elegant

Are lighter marks and scuffs on the leather a defect?

No. With Crazy Horse leather, changes in shade, lighter marks at flex points and local scuffs are characteristic of its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects, but part of the leather’s natural appearance.

How should Crazy Horse leather be cared for?

Dust and dry dirt are best removed with a soft brush or cloth. For light marks, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth on the affected area. For periodic care, use products intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Always test the product first on a less visible area.

Does Crazy Horse leather change in appearance with wear?

Yes. Lighter marks, creases, local scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material evolves with wear, so each pair develops its own individual character over time.

Is Crazy Horse leather waterproof?

No. Crazy Horse leather is not fully waterproof. Proper impregnation can reduce the absorption of moisture and dirt, but it does not make the footwear waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and never dry the boots directly next to a radiator or other heat source.

Why does this model have both laces and a side zip?

They serve different purposes. The laces let you fine-tune the fit across the instep and midfoot, while the side zip makes the boots quick to put on and take off without fully unlacing them each time. The combination also shapes the look: the lacing, metal eyelets and zip give the boot a stronger, more distinctive silhouette and reinforce its rugged, masculine character. Instead of looking like a plain, smooth ankle boot, the model has greater visual presence and more personality.

How does this model fit?

This model fits slightly larger than standard sizing. When choosing a size, use the insole length shown in the size guide and measure your foot carefully. If you are between two sizes, the smaller size will usually be the better choice.

Is this model suitable for wide feet?

This model is made on a standard-width last and provides a standard amount of room around the instep and forefoot. If you have distinctly wide feet, we recommend comparing your foot measurements carefully with the size guide and taking your individual foot shape into account.

How long does it take to prepare the shoes for dispatch?

Each pair is handcrafted after the order is placed. Standard production and preparation time before dispatch is 3–5 business days. This does not include the carrier’s delivery time.

Is the inside of the boots made from natural leather?

Yes. The lining and the surface of the insole are made from natural leather, in accordance with this model’s material specification.

Does natural leather need breaking in?

Natural leather may feel slightly firmer at first. With wear, it gradually adapts in areas of flex and pressure. Breaking in will not, however, correct insufficient shoe length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Can the color of Crazy Horse leather vary from pair to pair?

Yes. Natural Crazy Horse leather and its waxed pull-up finish mean that individual sections of leather and finished pairs may vary slightly in shade, color intensity, and the visibility of the pull-up effect. These variations are a natural characteristic of the material and give each pair an individual appearance.

Are the boots handcrafted in Poland?

Yes. Every pair is handcrafted in our workshop in Poland using traditional shoemaking methods.
