Chad – Brown Leather Motorcycle Boots with Rear Lacing

Chad men's leather motorcycle boots have a distinctive, military-inspired character. Brown Crazy Horse leather, additional lacing at the back of the shaft, warm-toned metal hardware and a leather buckle strap create a rugged, recognisable silhouette.

The model is designed for touring, recreational and urban motorcycle riding. Its construction also makes the boots suitable for walking during stops and for normal use away from the motorcycle.

Genuine Brown Crazy Horse Leather

The shaft is approximately 16 cm high, and the upper is made entirely from genuine Crazy Horse cowhide. Smoother leather panels at the front are combined with a more pronounced texture around the upper part of the shaft. Natural tonal transitions highlight the model's layered construction.

Crazy Horse leather has a waxed pull-up finish. Flexing and pressure may bring out lighter marks, local scuffs and variations in tone, while an individual patina gradually develops during wear.

The placement of lighter areas and the depth of the brown shade may vary from pair to pair. This is a natural characteristic of the leather and handmade production, not a material defect.

Front Lacing and Two Side Zips

The front lacing allows the fit to be adjusted around the instep and midfoot. Two side zips open the shaft and make the boots easier to put on and take off without fully unlacing them each time.

An exposed metal zip is positioned on the outer side, while a black zip is located on the inner side. Metal eyelets, upper lacing hardware and visible stitching highlight the construction and motorcycle character of the boots.

Additional Rear Lacing

One of Chad's most distinctive details is the lacing running up the back of the shaft. Its role is primarily decorative: it breaks up the leather surface and gives the boots a recognisable appearance when viewed from behind.

This detail is best displayed with straight-leg or slightly tapered trousers.

Leather Heel Strap with Metal Buckle

A leather strap wraps around the rear of the boot and emphasises the heel line. The buckle and other warm, aged-looking metal details complement the brown Crazy Horse leather and reinforce the model's motorcycle styling.

The strap is primarily a styling element. Fit is adjusted using the front lacing, while the side zips make the boots easier to put on and remove.

Leather Gear-Shift Panel and Cap-Toe Detail

An additional leather panel is positioned in the area that contacts the motorcycle gear lever. It creates another layer of leather between the lever and the main upper while emphasising the functional character of the model.

The cap-toe seam visually defines the toe area and references the construction of classic leather lace-up boots.

TR Sole with Multidirectional Tread

The sole is made from TR thermoplastic rubber and features a pronounced multidirectional tread. It is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and approximately 3 cm high at the rear. The sole is attached to the upper using cemented construction.

Leather Interior and Fit

The lining and insole surface are made from genuine leather. Chad has a standard width, standard instep volume and a standard amount of space in the forefoot.

The model runs slightly large. Before ordering, check the insole lengths in the size guide and compare them with the insole of shoes that fit you well. If you are between two sizes, the smaller size will usually be the better choice.

Natural leather may initially require a short break-in period, but this cannot compensate for an incorrectly chosen length or width.

How to Style Brown Chad Boots

Brown Chad boots work particularly well with biker, heritage, rugged, military-inspired and workwear outfits. Pair them with straight-leg jeans or raw denim, cargo trousers, an overshirt, field jacket, leather jacket or a heavier wool coat.

Navy, charcoal, khaki, olive and muted earth tones complement the brown leather. Denim, canvas, wool, leather and heavier cotton fabrics highlight its natural texture, tonal variation and metal details.

Handmade in Poland

Every pair of Chad boots is handmade to order in our workshop in Poland. Standard production and preparation before dispatch take 3–5 working days. Delivery time should be added to this period.

Fit & sizing
Sizing Runs slightly large

This model runs slightly larger than standard sizing. Before choosing a size, compare the listed insole length with a pair of shoes that fits you well.

Width Standard fit

This model is made on a standard-width last.

Instep Standard instep volume

This model provides a standard amount of room over the instep.

Toe box Standard toe box

The toe box offers a standard amount of room for the toes.

Natural leather may require a short break-in period

Natural leather may feel slightly firm at first. During the first few days, wear the shoes for shorter periods so the leather can gradually adapt at flex and pressure points. Breaking in will not correct insufficient length or an incorrectly chosen size.

Materials & construction
Upper Full leather upper

Natural cowhide leather

The upper is made entirely from natural cowhide leather. The leather type, surface finish and recommended care profile vary by model.

Leather Crazy Horse leather

Natural bovine grain Crazy Horse leather with a waxed pull-up finish. Its defining characteristics are natural tonal variation and lighter marks that appear as the leather flexes and is worn. The surface has a distinctive, slightly rugged appearance and gradually develops an individual patina.

Lighter marks at flex points, changes in shade, local scuffs and a patina that develops over time are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather and its waxed pull-up finish. They are not material defects. The surface evolves with wear, so each pair can gradually develop its own individual appearance.

Lining & insole Leather lining and leather-covered insole

The lining and the top surface of the insole are made from natural pigskin leather. This keeps the foot in direct contact with a natural material and reflects the construction standard of traditionally crafted leather footwear.

Outsole TR sole 1.5/3 cm with multidirectional tread

Black outsole made from TR (thermoplastic rubber), with a standard profile and a pronounced multidirectional tread. The outsole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the forefoot and approximately 3 cm high at the heel. This type of outsole is used primarily on ankle boots and motorcycle- or military-style footwear. It is also used on selected low-cut shoe designs. The outsole is cemented to the upper using technical footwear adhesives after the bonding surfaces have been properly prepared and the correct pressure applied.

Care
Before first wear

Before first wear, the footwear can be protected with a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply the product to a clean, dry surface according to the manufacturer's instructions. First test it on an inconspicuous area, as even a colourless product may darken the leather or alter the visibility of the characteristic pull-up effect.

Cleaning

Remove dust, sand and dry dirt with a soft brush or a clean, dry cloth. For light soiling, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth only on the affected area. Do not soak the entire leather surface or scrub it aggressively.

Regular care

When the leather begins to look dry, apply a small amount of colourless product intended for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. Apply it in a thin, even layer without over-conditioning. Care may slightly darken the surface and reduce the visibility of lighter marks characteristic of the pull-up effect.

Moisture protection

For protection against everyday moisture, use a product suitable for Crazy Horse, waxed or oiled leather. The treatment helps reduce moisture and dirt absorption but does not make the footwear completely waterproof. Avoid prolonged contact between the leather and water.

After getting wet

Blot away surface moisture with a dry, absorbent cloth. Insert clean paper or shoe trees to help the footwear retain its shape. Let the shoes dry naturally at room temperature, away from radiators, fireplaces, hairdryers and direct sunlight. Once fully dry, the leather can be protected again with a suitable product if its condition requires it.

What to avoid

Avoid heavily covering coloured polishes, harsh detergents, large amounts of water and intensive scrubbing. Do not use petrol, solvents, acetone, degreasers or technical chemicals. Excessive amounts of grease, oil or wax can significantly darken the leather and alter the characteristic pull-up effect.

Styling
Biker: jeans, leather jacket and heavier layers

Leather boots with a motorcycle-inspired biker character work especially well with straight or slightly tapered jeans, a leather jacket, a simple T-shirt, chunky knitwear and a heavier coat. Black, charcoal, dark denim and natural leather reinforce the strong silhouette and highlight metal and construction details. The result is a confident, masculine everyday look inspired by classic biker style that also works well in more rugged outfits.

Military-inspired: cargo trousers, denim and field jacket

Leather boots and ankle boots inspired by military aesthetics work naturally with cargo trousers, straight jeans, chinos, overshirts and field jackets. Black, brown, khaki, olive and charcoal pair well with denim, canvas, leather and wool. Simple cuts, heavier fabrics and utilitarian details reinforce the rugged, confident silhouette without turning the outfit into full military styling.

Heritage / rugged: denim, brown leather and natural fabrics

Brown Crazy Horse leather boots are particularly well suited to heritage, rugged and workwear outfits. Natural tonal variation, the pull-up effect and the patina that develops with wear work naturally with raw denim, canvas, wool, leather and heavyweight cotton. Straight jeans, chinos, cargo trousers, an overshirt, field jacket, leather jacket and wool coat reinforce the natural, rugged character of brown leather. Brown, cognac, khaki, olive, navy and charcoal work especially well.

Workwear: denim, overshirt and heavyweight fabrics

Workwear-inspired leather boots pair naturally with straight jeans, heavyweight cotton trousers, cargo trousers, overshirts, work jackets, chunky sweaters and heavier coats. Denim, canvas, natural leather, wool and textured fabrics reinforce the utilitarian aesthetic and highlight visible construction details. Brown, black, khaki, olive and navy create a natural palette for classic workwear and rugged outfits.

Vintage / rugged: denim, leather and natural fabrics

Leather boots with a vintage and rugged character work especially well with raw denim, straight jeans, cargo trousers, overshirts, field jackets, leather jackets, chunky knitwear and heavier coats. Denim, leather, canvas, wool and heavyweight cotton highlight natural texture, stitching, distressed finishes and distinctive construction details. Black, charcoal, navy, khaki and muted earth tones create a cohesive base for rugged outfits inspired by vintage, workwear and motorcycle aesthetics.

FAQ

Najczęściej zadawane pytania o model Chad

What type of motorcycle riding is this model designed for?

This model is designed for touring, recreational and urban motorcycle riding. It combines the functional character of motorcycle footwear with the comfort needed off the bike, making it suitable for longer rides, stops, sightseeing and everyday commuting. It is aimed at riders looking for leather motorcycle boots they can ride in and comfortably walk in afterward, rather than heavy, rigid track boots.

What is the leather gear-shift panel on the front of the boot for?

The additional leather panel is positioned exactly where the boot repeatedly contacts the motorcycle gear lever during shifting. It creates an extra layer of leather between the gear lever and the main upper, so the area exposed to repeated contact is better suited to this type of use. It is a functional detail of the motorcycle-oriented construction that also gives the model a more technical, distinctive look.

How does this style fit?

This style runs slightly large. Before choosing a size, check the insole lengths in the size guide and compare them with the insole length of shoes that fit you well. Do not compare the insole length directly with your foot length, as the insole needs to include the extra room required for a proper fit. If you are between two sizes, the smaller size will usually be the better choice.

Is this style suitable for wide feet?

This style has a standard width, with standard room over the instep and in the forefoot. It is not specifically designed for wide feet. The size guide lists insole lengths and cannot be used to assess the width of the boots. If your feet are noticeably wide, the fit will depend on their individual shape.

Why does this model have both laces and a side zip?

They serve different purposes. The laces let you fine-tune the fit across the instep and midfoot, while the side zip makes the boots quick to put on and take off without fully unlacing them each time. The combination also shapes the look: the lacing, metal eyelets and zip give the boot a stronger, more distinctive silhouette and reinforce its rugged, masculine character. Instead of looking like a plain, smooth ankle boot, the model has greater visual presence and more personality.

What is the purpose of the additional lacing at the back of the shaft?

The additional lacing at the back of the shaft is primarily a stylistic feature. It breaks up the clean line of the high shaft, adds visual depth and gives the boot a distinctive look from the side and rear as well. Combined with the metal details, it is one of the elements that gives the model a more expressive and individual character.

Does Crazy Horse leather change in appearance with wear?

Yes. Lighter marks, creases, local scuffs and a gradually developing patina are natural characteristics of Crazy Horse leather. The material evolves with wear, so each pair develops its own individual character over time.

How should Crazy Horse leather be cared for?

Dust and dry dirt are best removed with a soft brush or cloth. For light marks, use a well-wrung, slightly damp cloth on the affected area. For periodic care, use products intended for Crazy Horse, oiled or waxed leather. Always test the product first on a less visible area.

Is Crazy Horse leather waterproof?

No. Crazy Horse leather is not fully waterproof. Proper impregnation can reduce the absorption of moisture and dirt, but it does not make the footwear waterproof. Avoid prolonged soaking and never dry the boots directly next to a radiator or other heat source.

Does natural leather need breaking in?

Natural leather may feel slightly firmer at first. With wear, it gradually adapts in areas of flex and pressure. Breaking in will not, however, correct insufficient shoe length or an incorrectly chosen size.

How is the sole with multidirectional tread constructed?

The sole is made from TR, or thermoplastic rubber. It has a pronounced multidirectional tread. The sole is approximately 1.5 cm thick at the front and about 3 cm high at the rear. The sole is bonded to the upper.

What is the purpose of the buckle strap around the heel?

The leather strap with a metal buckle is primarily a design detail. It accentuates the heel line and the boots’ motorcycle-inspired character. The front lacing provides the main fit adjustment, while the two side zips make the boots easier to put on and take off without fully unlacing the shaft each time.

Is the inside of the boots made from natural leather?

Yes. The lining and the surface of the insole are made from natural leather, in accordance with this model’s material specification.

How long does it take to prepare the shoes for dispatch?

Each pair is handcrafted after the order is placed. Standard production and preparation time before dispatch is 3–5 business days. This does not include the carrier’s delivery time.
